Welcome to Copenhagen Reggae Symposium…help us heal the world.

We have many ideas inspired by great musicians. We are all lucky that there are so many such Angels.

Reggae has the greatest share of idealistic lyrics. It also has a very distinct story of coming into existence unlike any other genre.

For many years it had living witnesses who could relate how one thing led to another. It is also the only genre that evolved alongside a just as revolutionary distinct belief system and movement.

It seems that reggae is the perfect crossroads for everything that matters and thats what makes this symposium inevitable.

Your Host’s History

YOUR HOST JIMMY ANDERSEN IS ON A MISSION TO WALK 18000 KILOMETRES FROM CAPE TOWN TO CAIRO TO CHANGE THE WORLD. THE WALK BEGINS ON THE 17th AUGUST 2025 AT THE VICTORIA AND ALBERT WATERFRONT.

Descending from 3 African Royal Families, Jimmy was adopted by a Danish man, Hans Jørgen Andersen, who married Jimmys mother in 1972 in Zambia. Hans was in Africa to work with development projects and throughout his career he included Jimmy and his siblings in his projects. At 15 Jimmy began school in Denmark, after attending 10 diffrent schools in Tanzania, Zambia and Kenya. At school in denmark, Jimmy became aware of world issues, such as pollution, the decreasing ozone hole, Nuclear threats and racism- He was also exposed to rock n roll and began his first band. An inner conflict with his catholicism and the Devils music, was soon resolved through Bob Marleys Reggae and Rastafarianism. Marleys simplification of race, identity and spirituality was so profound on young Jimmy that by the time he was 18 he signed himself out of school and went to London in search of Rastafari connections. Surviving as a street musician, he attracted the love, respect of many in the Black community of Brixton. He was taken in and taught everything he knows. Jimmys activities resulted in several bands, recordings, tours, festivals and travels. Today almost 40 years of experience and travels to Sweden, Norway, Scotland, Germany, England, Belgium, Ethiopia, Senegal, Malawi, South Africa, Spain and the USA are culminating into THE REGGAE SYMPOSIUM. The symposium is a necessary format to convey the vast and confusing trajectory of Jimmys life , the many project ideas and he vast catalogue of original music. It is also a result of being exposed to rural and urban African realities and the many aspects of Denmarks egalitarian society and the institutions that have established it. His schooling was in the tradition of Grundtvig, his soul searching in the tradition of Søren Kirkegaard, His love for science in the tradition of Ole Rømer, HC Ørsted and Niels Bohr, his socio-economic outlook in the tradition of Viggo Starcke and his life story in the tradition the many stories by HC Andersen. Jimmy's practical ability to facilitate projects began at Frontløberne, Kaospilots and Amnesty International in Århus and continued at The 1990 Trust in London. As the grandson of Goodwin Mtawale in whose house in Lusaka, the organisors of Zambia's independence, including Simon Kapwepwe, Harry Nkhumbula and Kenneth Kaunda would meet, Jimmy has organisation in his DNA, As grandson of James Njalamba Chiozo, chief of Dambo village in Nkhata Bay Who married Princess Ncifi Dlamini of the Royal family of Swaziland, Jimmy is under obligation to bring lasting solutions to his peoples needs. As the great grandson of James Sandulizani Phiri, who obtained a licence to smoke marijuana in public by the British colonial Police Commissioner Jimmy is an eccentric figure who is better known as JIMEE ....the Rock Star. Welcome to COPENHAGEN REGGAE SYMPOSIUM which no doubt will have aspects of it implemented from town to town from Cape Town to Cairo.

GREENLAND IS NOT FOR SALE BUT DANISH IDEAS ARE

We are in Denmark-a crossroads of ancient conquests, epic capitulations, globally significant discoveries, and commendable social progress. We are happy and lucky to be based in Copenhagen and we feel we have many resources to help us engage in global issues. Just like Denmark, Reggae music is a crossroads of so many things. African aspirations are at the centre of these, and therefore COPENHAGEN REGGAE SYMPOSIUM gives a detailed proposal of how danish foreign policy to Africa should look like.

LESS PLASTIC IN THE OCEAN AND MORE STREAMING MONEY FOR MUSICIANS

Saving the world is not easy so it helps to have specific defined goals. We have many of those—-so it doesnt get any easier.

HOWEVER in the final analysis, we have several funky conclusions. The one that makes most sense in terms of relevance to the project and Copenhagen, is LESS PLASTIC IN THE OCEAN AND MORE STREAMING MONEY FOR MUSICIANS. That just about touches on every dynamic and strategy we make use of.

TALKING POINTS PLANTING SEEDS.

We have specific talking points to engage the audience very briefly with. Our method is to plant seeds that awaken their personal apprehensions and resolutions. Its a process that takes time.

After plamting the seeds we quickly present OUR proposals for solutions and we leave it at that- Our audience will the be ready for the first live performance

INNOVATION

We explain why we are unique and different. How we are innovative and why we are sure that there is a great bright future for us

REGGAE LEGEND JIMMY CLIFF IN A SONG PROPOSAL AND LEGENDARY DANISH BLUES GUITARIST KENN LENDING IN A CAREER SHIFT AS COOL MUM RECORDS ASSERTS MUSIC FOR SOCIO ECONOMIC CHANGE......WELCOME TO COPENHAGEN REGGAE SYMPOSIUM 2025

Cool Mum Records is an idea that dates back to 2017. Its purpose is to acknowledge and empower all the women of the world in order to establish global peace, prosperity and environmental responsibility.

The most important day in Cool Mum Records calender is the 8th of March and in the future women from everywhere will convene on the island of Zanzibar to establish a global constitution for women by women. In short Cool Mum Records is designed as a youth club where mothers can nurture the growth of their childrens talents. Assisted in all practical issues by fathers, Cool Mum Records is the first record company in the world dedicated to establishing and preserving family values, even as it allows limitless expression.

In 2025, Cool Mum Records is presenting COPENHAGEN REGGAE SYMPOSIUM 2025 to showcase the practical solutions and platforms for public participation necessary for the achievements of the company's objectives. The programme for this first ever event, is characterised by the presentation of immediately implementable objectives aimed at resolving urgent and pressing issues in our world.

Top of the list is

1. To provide immediate and sustained healthcare to cobalt and coltan miners in the Congo exposed to radiation. The reason for this priority is expressed in a short essay on this site.

2. To financially support the establishment of Soup kitchens across South Africa.

3. To establish a permanent infrastructure for sustained fundraising in order to meet the demands of caring for people around the world. The structure is called the REGGAE DOLLAR and will have its headquarters in TRENCHTOWN where Reggae was born.

Symbolically and with due protocol the idea of the Reggae Dollar is presented to the Jamaican people in a letter to the Jamaican Minister Of Culture OLIVIA GRANGE who led Reggae into UNESCO in 2018.

The letter also highlights the desire by Cool Mum records that the legendary, first king of Reggae, JIMMY CLIFF should record a song written by Jimmy Andersen and Robert Carvalho entitled UNESCO REGGAE. This song will be released in support of soup kitchens in two neighbourhood in a South African town called Knysna, through an rganisation led by CHARMAINE SINCLAIR called CHANGES OF KNYSNA.

On his many tours around the world Danish Blues legend KENN LENDING joins the symposium as part of his deliberate move to shift from Blues to other genres such as World muisc and Soul. He will perfom a song written by Jimmy Andersen called SMILE AT YOUR SOUL in support of efforts to preserve the natural vegetation in the OVERBERG is South Africa. SMILE AT YOUR SOUL is one of many songs to be recorde for the album BOTRIVIER HOTEL by a collection of Denmarks best Blues muiscians.

All in all the Symposium is a deliberate follow up of the obligations bestowed upon REGGAE MUSIC as a result of the genre being inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List Of Intangible Heritage Of Humanity.

This is technically achieved through CCSR (Comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility) and CIPR (Collective intellectual Property Rights) These concepts are relevant to all who take part in the symposium especially the artists a they are aimed at resolving the lack of fair distribution of income from music streaming on Big Tech platforms.

All the above points are not up for discussion. Rather, ready strategies and tools will be shared with delegates and are expected to positively impact global markets within weeks with win win solutions.

SOUP KITCHEN REGGAE

Did you know that Bob Marley’s song NO WOMAN NO CRY was credited to his long time ghetto friend Vincent Ford, who ran a soup kitchen. This means that the royalties fro the song, fed many people. That is the business model of COOL MUM RECORDS and KING OF AFRICA PUBLISHING.

New Recordings Based On Old Demos

Jimee has many songs in his catalogue. Too many to record himself and there are new ones being written everyday. This means that many collaborations are in the air and many songs will be recorded by other artists for the benefit of worthy causes.

BOTRIVIER HOTEL

In 2014, while walking towards Cairo from Cape Town, I spent a winter at Botrivier Hotel as resident musician. I wrote many songs there, several of them in the Blues, Rock and Soul genres. Its time to record those songs with musicians in Denmark and we begin with legendary Blues artist KENN LENDING

APRIL ROOTS

As we celebrate the great BUNNY WAILER s birthday, the 10th of April, we look at our world today and take a stance we know he would have approved of

It is 2025 and the world is at a crossroads. On the one side we havea mounian of accumulated wisdom and experince that can shape a sustainabl future for all under the able custodianship of humanity and on the other side a ,ountain of accumulated knowledge and experience in technology and warfare that can guarantee our total destruction. behind us is an age old structure of distribution of wealth that since ancient days has favoured a select few at the expense of the deprived many.

Today in 2025 we witness the bastions of hope that were established to gurantee equal participation in freedom, wealth and security violated in front of our eyes. Violated from without and from within. As the reality sinks in, the idea of effective reaction is too overwhelming to contemplate, the methods of resistance too foreign to engage in.

Yet in all fairness, we can say that what seems overwhelming is simply so because we forget that we are faced with two mountains and not just one. The authority of choice is still with us and will always be, as it has always been. COPENHAGEN REGGAE FORUM 2025 invites you to explore the possibilities within the other mountain. the mountain of our accumulated goodness as a species, collection of cultures, experiences, dreams and aspirations.

Thanks to advanced electronic devices of communication, all our dreams and aspirations are now possible. we have in our hands the means, to produce, edit, broadcast, disseminate, share, sell and buy, like never before This represents the second mountain so well. The first mountain is not to be forgotten though. We can now be watched, surveiled, targeted, excluded, tracked down and even eliminated like never before.

However, the moral burden falls on those of us who preffer the second mountain. the mountain of good intentions. In fact it is not a burden. It is a conviction. By simply havinga device in our hands we are complicit in the exploitation of Africans daily exposed to radiation as they mine the components necessary for our devices.

There was a time when we could point to a mountain of cut off hands of slave labourers accused of stealing rubber from Belgian owned planations in the Congo. We could point and quite accurately placate imperialism. We could do the same with cocoa plantations in Ghana, cotton fields in Georgia and sweat shops in China. However, today our use of electronic devices in our daily validations, aspirations, communications and productions, is turning us into hypocrites if we critisze imperialism but fail to do our utmost best to adress the plight of Congolese slave labourers.

Justice for everyone is a must. However it can be difficult and debatable where to begin. every argument has a counter argument. With Congo, the implication begins with the fact that we all possess smartphones and computers which we use for the benefit of every other cause but the Congo. So demanding action from everyone with a phone is perfectly justifiable. This is the official stance of COPENHAGEN REGGAE SYMPOSIUM and it is teh foundation for all our future activities and platforms.

We must uphold the principles that make a community thrive. We must establish standards of respect for ourselves and others. Today the means to aquire wealth are heavily entrenched in intellectual property. We must innovate ways to gain leverage in all situations. We must make harmonised and concerted efforts to reap from the great wealth creation that we all are inextricably networked into. This is where the concepts of COLLECTIVE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS (CIPR) and COMPREHENSIVE CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY come into play. COPENHAGEN REGGAE SYMPOISUM is looking forward to present examples of both CCSR and CIPR from freal life projects, some whichwere embarked on as far back as 20 years ago. We welcome and appreciate your participation.

Rastafari

In 1966 Emperor Haile Sellassie visited Jamaica. It was an unprecedented event with far freaching significance until this day. The visit was a response to grievances presented to Haile Selssie in Ethiopia in 1961 by a delegation led by Rastafarian leader Mortimer Planno.

Bob Marley 80

In April 1978, Bob Marley returned to Jamaica after two years of living in exlie due to an attempt on his life. He returned to secure peace after violent political conflicts. A Hollywood movie ONE LOVE relates the story. We celebrate this amazing moment.

Zimbabwe

In April 1980 the former SOUTHERN RHODESIA became independent ZIMBABWE.
